Book NowOne of the most popular shows on Broadway is coming to Boston! Its The Book of Mormon, the nine-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical from the creators of South Park.
The highly satirical show The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. One missionary, Elder Price, is an enthusiastic go-getter with a strong dedication to his faith, while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a socially awkward but well-meaning nerd whose tendency to embroider the truth soon lands him in trouble. Upon their arrival in Africa, Elders Price and Cunningham learn that a successful mission may not be as easy as they expected.
The Book of Mormon is filled with catchy music, outrageous humor, and clever satire - and is not for the easily offended! Hailed by The New York Times as Heaven on Broadway! A celebration of the privilege of living inside that improbable paradise called a musical comedy. And Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show calls it, "Genius. Brilliant. Phenomenal." The Book of Mormon playfully pokes fun at religion, sexuality, poverty and race; and features several big song-and-dance numbers accompanied by some old-fashioned Broadway belting, and plenty of heart!
PLEASE NOTE: The Book of Mormon contains explicit language and off-color humor, which may be offensive to some patrons. Written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone (creators of South Park) alongside Robert Lopez (Avenue Q), the show features extreme irreverence, profanity, dark satire, and non-PC jokes (and drops a lot of f-bombs!). Strobe lighting, flashing lights, smoke, haze, gunshots, and effects are also used during the production.
